If receipts are printing every time a customer completes a purchase for non-food or standalone item purchases, this is likely because multiple printing options are enabled under your Online Ordering printer settings. Having both labeled item printing and full order/expo receipt printing active causes the printer to trigger on all transaction types.
To fix this, make sure only Option 1 – Select printer for labeled items is checked in your Online Ordering printer settings, and that Option 2 is unchecked.
- Navigate to the Setup (or Orders) app > Online Ordering > Settings > Remote Firing Printer > This opens a page called "Manage printing preferences for Online Ordering." (Also accessible from the Printers App → Manage printing preferences from online ordering.)
- Under Section 1 (Select printer for labeled items), confirm the checkbox is enabled and your desired printer is selected.
- Under Section 2 (Choose an option for full order or unlabeled items), make sure the checkbox is unchecked/disabled.
- Save your settings.
With only Section 1 active, your printer will only trigger for labeled items associated with food orders, rather than firing on every purchase.
If receipts continue printing unexpectedly after making this change, double-check that no other printer profiles or automation rules are configured elsewhere in your settings, and reach out to support if the issue persists.
