Getting Started with Commissions

The Commissions App is an add-on for Mission Control that calculates employee commissions automatically. You can set one rate for your whole organization or a custom rate for individual employees, and choose which values count toward Commissioned Sales.

Note: A Mission Control subscription is required to use the Commissions App.

Commissions comes with a free 30-day trial so you can see how it fits your business. After the trial, an All Access subscription is $7.50 per month.

Set Up Commissions

1. Install the Commissions App from the Clover App Market on your Clover Web Dashboard.
2. Install the Mission Control App. Mission Control tracks sales by employee, which Commissions uses to calculate each employee’s commission.
3. Open the Commissions App. Your employees import automatically through Mission Control.
4. Click the Settings tab to configure your settings. See Commission Settings below for what each option does.
5. Click the Report tab to run commission reports for a date range.

Note: Sales are credited to the employee logged in to the Clover device when the sale is made. For accurate commissions, make sure employees only ring up sales while logged in as themselves. If an employee makes a sale while someone else is logged in, the commission goes to that other person.

Include/Exclude Options

Choose which values are subtracted from gross receipts to calculate Commissioned Sales: Refunds, Credits, Tax, Cost of Goods Sold, and Non-Revenue Items. For example, including Refunds subtracts refunded amounts from an employee’s sales before their commission is calculated. For details on each option, see Commissions Settings.

Set Default Commission
Set one commission rate for all employees. For example, enter 7% to give every employee 7% of their sales. See How do I set a default commission?

Create New Commission
Set a custom rate for an individual employee. For example, you can give Tommy 8% while everyone else gets the 7% default. Employees without a custom rate receive the default. See How do I create a custom commission? and How do I edit or delete a commission?
