My payments total does not equal my invoice total - Why?

For certain use cases, we recommend to have the BY CATEGORY field turned off to ensure accuracy between your point of sale payments and invoice totals. Examples of these use cases are:

• If you frequently have partial payments on your orders
• If you frequently have refunds of item modifiers

In these cases, if you choose to have the BY CATEGORY field turned on, there may be a difference between your daily payments and total invoice amount shown in your accounting system.
